
Dunkeld and Birnam occupies a prominent position above the town and is a mixture of parkland and heathland holes. The original heathland course was opened in 1922 and later extended with a further 9 parkland holes situated close to the nature reserve at the Loch of the Lowes.
Pitlochry has a heathland course that sits above the town and gives beautiful views into the Tummel Valley below and the Grampian Mountains to the north. The course has an alpine feel to it and was once described as a little piece of Switzerland in Scotland.
The Ferntower course in Crieff is an attractive and well maintained parkland course with views down Strathearn. It has played host to a number of Scottish PGA events over the years, although its reasonably wide fairways and forgiving rough make it a course that can be enjoyed by all abilities.
Pitlochry was originally developed as a Victorian spa resort with beautiful views along the Tummel Valley and Loch Faskally. The heath and parkland courses having stunning views, particularly with the seasonal colours of Autumn.
