The rolling parkland course at Peebles has a commanding view of the town and Tweed Valley and was laid out by Harry Colt, who also designed the courses at Wentworth and Royal Portrush. This course has hosted a number of Scottish amateur events.
The James Braid designed moorland course at West Linton is very much a hidden gem. It is tucked away above the village up a short single track road. When the heather is in full bloom is an absolute joy to play, although keep to the fairways as it’s a hack out if you stray from the short grass.
The modern Dave Thomas designed layout at Cardrona is the newest layout in this part of the Borders and has large bunkers and USGA style greens. It sits in an attractive location beside the River Tweed, which flows through the middle of the course.
Peebles nestles amongst the rolling Border Hills of the North Tweed Valley - one of Scotland's most famous salmon rivers. A great mixture of courses from the modern Dave Thomas layout at Cardrona to the classic James Braid moorland course at West Linton.
Only half an hour by road from Edinburgh and just over an hour from Glasgow. Three to four hours drive from most Northern English cities.
